What was the highlight of Kontiki Beach Resort

Very Good

The location was beautiful and the landscaping was stunning! The pool outside our room was magnificent. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The resort was safe. The beaches were clean and there was ample parking.

We needed to ask for hand towels and bath towels on more than occasion. We got a beach towel that had tears in it on two separate occasions. They cleaned the room and did not replenish the toilet paper. In the bathroom there was dust all along the windows and the corners of the bathtub. The bathroom door kept opening by itself after we closed it.

Wonderful

The staff was excellent, the place was very nice and clean. Close to places of interest. On the beach, there were gastronomic offers and a bar. The room is spacious and comfortable, with everything you need for a pleasant stay.

Good

We loved the forest and all the pools. The beach was really nice too and there are a lot of restaurants close by.

The isolation in the room was quite bad and we heard the neighbours talking even when they were talking in normal voice. The hotel looked super nice but as soon as you look a bit closer you see things are a bit run down and sometimes a bit dirty. The breakfast was not worth it for us since we felt they go with quantity rather than quality. The lunch on the other hand was quite nice.

Over all great location for a solo traveler

The location is great. It’s near all the beach clubs and restaurants. They have pool entrances to all the rooms. And I felt safe being a solo traveler. They had security and the property is clean and well maintained.

2 things i didn’t like. 1. There was a sewer problem stench in the bathroom that would not go away. Yuck and 2. The cleaning people “removed”/“stole” my sneakers out my room. I had them in a plastic garment bag and they weren’t in my room the next day when i tried to check out. I don’t want to accuse the cleaners of stealing but I was disappointed items were missing from my room.

Gorgeous facilities with multiple salt water pools, beach front property, great restaurants, helpful staff

The property is situated on an area with some sort of sewage issue, causing a foul odor to be present in some areas. The staff is aware of this but there’s not much they can do to remedy it, I believe.

The layout of cabins, pools and vegetation was very nice/relaxing, yet close to restaurants, ATMs, etc. . .

Worst thing were some of the local staff (not all). For example, at breakfast they got my order wrong twice, then took ages to fix fit, or they would just ignore the table and then act upset and disrespectful. Or. . . I had a great meal at the Mambo beach restaurant one night (the one at the back) so I decided to try the one by the bar next day; as soon as I approach to ask a question, the bartender loudly starts joking about my body shape. I'm not the most politically correct person but I think if you randomly insult your would-be paying customers then you are an idiot. Please, train your staff.

I like everything here! Niceee staff, good location (10 mins drive from here to Queen Emma Bridge), beautiful decorations and inner design, easy access to beautiful beaches, wonderful night life and relaxing environment!!

It is exactly as on the pictures, the rooms and facilities are extremely clean and the personnel very friendly. The location is perfect: right at the beach with the choice of 2 different beach facilities, and close to the center of Willemstad with many restaurants. The bar and food service is just exceptional. In short: your carribean dream come true! It’s a 4 star and a half hotel in my appreciation.

As described in many reviews there is music on the beach, even at night, but if you like to attend the beach parties, this is fine. Best is to ask for a room away from the beachfront if you don’t like that. For activities, best is to also use the internet to organize yourself since the staff is not always efficient. Just a minor inconvenience.

Wow!

We stayed here on the second part of our honeymoon for 8 nights. The photos we had seen beforehand didn’t do it justice, it’s so beautiful. The room was spacious and the cleaning service was excellent. We had a huge veranda too for watching the sunset. We didn’t realize before we came that it’s located beside Mambo Beach so we were spoilt for choice with restaurants and bars and it meant we didn’t need to take taxis for dinner. Reception staff were helpful and pleasant. I can’t say enough about this place!

There is no gym at the property which we knew in advance but I would still prefer if there was one. The air con was a little difficult to use meaning it was sometimes very hot especially in the bathroom as the unit is located in the main bedroom. There is significant noise from the beach party nights but this didn’t bother us as we requested a room away from that side and also aren’t light sleepers.
